Q for people who use the K&N Typhoon CAIK
Do you use the sock thing which covers the filter?
As mine has it on, but to be honest I'd have thought it would work better without it, and surely it cant get that wet being behind the bumper etc?

keep it on thats why they supply it,you will be suprised at how much crap it can pick up especially in the winter months when there is plenty of wet muddy roads.as for restricting air flow i was running over 400bhp with mine on and there was never any problems with airflow.

Well I removed it this afternoon, and the filter was quite mucky, but the 'sock' was totally filthy!! So think I will put it back on, and I can remove that quite easily to clean.

if you think about it k+n arn,t going to produce a caik to improve performance and air flow then supply something with the kit that will restrict the air flow as that is the whole purpose of the kit in the first place, to supply more air.at the end of the day its only a very fine gauze sock which air will pass through very easily, now if you said that it was one of your grandads thermal woolen socks that was supplied with the kit then i would say yes take the bloody thing off.
