is anyone using such kits orcan make a suggestion?
can the sump be remove and refitted easily enough without removing the headers?

I have a arc high capacity sump and a cosworth sump baffle for sale at the moment
I think you would probably have to unbolt the engine and move it forward to get to sump it should be easy enough though

The APi Baffled sump is £150.00 + VAT exchange and is well proven on track days.
Or we now offer a copy of the Prodrive rally one at £350.00 + VAT exchange. This has a complete removable centre and baffle plate with alloy feed pipe. So that IF you break your engine the sump can be cleaned and re-used which is not the case with our cheaper one, or probably any other welded up type.
We have stock of either at the moment.

The cosworth baffle plate works very well in mine. I also have the later twin scroll sump which is better overall design and does not suffer as much surge like earlier and single scroll sumps.
As far as I can see with these modified sumps is that they are welding around the edges and welding two small plates in to cover two drainback holes then cleaning/respraying it. That to my mind is not 'baffled'. Admittedly it does seem to improve things from what I read and from people that have them.

Carl Davey did a review of John Felstead's baffled sumps here with some nice photos.

OR a PROPER Group N sump with removeable centre panel and baffle A-LA Prodrive, so that when [ ] the engine blows you can clean it out. £350.00 + VAT.
Photo's sent upon request, to a proper email address [ not S'net Pm's, I can't figure that system out.]
Where the older style welded up one that we still sell occasionally, is a throw away once it gets full of debris.
The old style served well for many years, as it is very effective. Trouble we had was, that we sent them and then got a phone call a few days later from the buyer who advised, ' that he already had a baffled sump '
Not quite true, as all he had done was see what we do, copy it and send ours back for a refund.....
Once we twigged this when the 3rd one came back, we advised no returns allowed.

Nope - not me. But having seen some of these I can understand why people would send them back. Not that there is anything wrong with them, far from it, just that they will judge how long it would take them to do it themselves or a friend that can weld a bit and balance that against the cost.

What more can someone ask for ?
