Look for a split or detached pipe, especially at the waste gate actuator but check the pipework generally.
Letting it over boost, no matter how much fun IS A BAD THING

If you have an avcr you can adjust the boost duty down a wee bit, that should dropp your peak boost.

I got my 2003 sti mapped by andy f and unknown to me it had a leaky up pipe gasket causing later full boost, when i got this fixed the car was over boosting, problem solved by turning the duty down slightly

If your clutch is slipping the rev counter will move round the dial when you put your foot down but the car will not pick up corresponding speed.
