Default Torque setting for cam pulley bolts?

As above - what's the torque setting for the cam pulley bolts? And should I use locktight on the threads? Cheers!

there 78nm for an ej20 engine.

yes use lock tight you really don't want them coming back out when the engines running.

hope this helps

Can't remember! The old bolts look pretty clean though TBH.

Cheers for the advice. And the crank pulley is 98 Nm, right?

can't remember that torque off hand sorry.

and to the above was there any when you took it off ignore that.

just put on when you put them back on, all the pulleys, and the crank bolt. last thing you want is them coming out. subaru manual tells you to locktight them!!!

Crank pulley torque was 98Nm and then changed to 127Nm on the Phase 2 engines (prob due to the bolt backing off).
No need to use Locktite on the cam pulley bolts - light smear of oil or moly lube on the threads and then torqued up correctly.

why does the manual tell you to lock tight them then?

anything that has inertia running through it eg spinning, better to be safe than sorry and locktight.

If it gives you peace of mind - locktite them.

Not seen any EJ20/22/25/257 cam bolts with locktite on them from the Factory though
