Default Advice please! How and where do i get the spark plugs changed???

Hey guy, after selling my Evo, just owned my new Subaru for couple of months and now have decided to change the spark plugs

i have now realised that it is not that easy to change the spark plugs on a scooby lol, and it is very awkward

mine is a 1995 classic Turbo (import),, any advice of how i can change the plugs myslef, any site or any pictures or videos????

i have been quoted £30 to get them changed, (this is just the fitting price), is this normal?

That sound s about right from a garage, it can take about an hour if you've never done it before.

Basically the easiest way is to remove the airbox and battery, then you can get a 3" socket extension with plug socket and change the plugs, it is a tight fit as the cam covers are close to the wheek arches.

Iv'e done mine for the first time and when i actually finished its not as bad as some people make out.

its an easy job to be honest, looks harder than it is. You dont have to remove the airbox or battery but it will give slightly better access

You need to remove the coil packs (think it is its a 10mm bolt) so use a small headed socket on that. Be careful removing the coil packs though as they can become brittle with age so the tips may actually break up/off. Use a spark plug socket for the plugs with a shortish extension bar. If you know someone with small hands then its an ideal job for them

Er... because the Scoob's cylinders lie horizontally flat. So it's always gonna be a harder job than a conventional upright in-line motor with vertical cylinders.
