Default Does a non STI type R exist?

Hi all,

I believe i know my stuff on type R's, and im going to see one with my mate tomorrow and one thing is baffling me. The seller states his Type R is a V3 type R STI V-LTD but it does not have DCCD.

Now ive owned a 1996 V-LTD McRae V2 which had a diff controller, and also a V5 Type R STI which had a diff controller.

This type R does come with the V-LTD roof vein/vent but i was under the impression all STI type R's had DCCD. Is there such thing as a type R RA (non sti) model?

Any advice would me much appreciated.

Thanks,

See here... The Bloodline of Impreza STi Version

As can be seen, for v.3 (Sep 96 - Aug 97) there was NO non-STi Type R... or even any V-Limited variant (STi or otherwise).

There was, however, a non-STi Type R for v.4 (Sep 97 - Aug 98) and v.5 (Sep 98 - Aug 99). They were both V-Limited variants.

Type R relates to the fact the bodyshell is from the three door "Retna"

...Does anyone know if those two non-STi v.4/5 Type Rs DO NOT have the DCCD then (and indeed non-STi Type RAs)?! I'm guessing not

Anyone?
