Default Standard ECU remap

I rang R.C developments today about maybe getting my 1998 uk turbo remapped. I was told that that particular ecu cannot be remapped and would need to have a piggyback ecu fitted and it would cost about 1100 pound to get it fitted and mapped. Is there any truth in this because i am not gonna pay that just for a remap.

thanks Graeme

check out jollygreenmonster.co.uk and the apexi power fc, you are lookin at nearly a bird in any case - well worth it tho, 1100 is too high for a pig, the apexi is replacement ecu - im looking at having this done

£1100 is way too high for a piggyback ECU.
An Apexi replacement ECU and hand controller should cost around £700 fitted and mapped.

Hi All :-)

Interesting reading this, as I'm thinking of going with the Apexi ECU + Commander + AVCR unit for better boost control. Mine is a 1996 WRX with a standard V5 ECU which is a 4 pin one. Anybody know which Apexi Unit I may need???

Hey TingTong, you say you had yours done by andy c (based in the north). How easy was it for him to do and do you have any contact details please.............I'm in Merseyside.

Cheers for any help fellas,

Mark.
