Default Pistons

Hi, how can I tell if a short motor is a closed deck sti ra engine or if it's closed deck wrx ra engine? I know the pistons in the wrx engine are cast and the sti ones are forged, is there any way of telling from a picture from the top of the piston? the short motor is meant to be 96 sti ra.
Thanks Danny

You cant tell for sure from the crowns of the pistons - if the sump is off,you can see the underside of the pistons to check for cross-hatching(WRX) or you can remove a gudgeon pin access bung (14mm allen key) and use a very small mirror and torch to see.
