Default New Exhaust Advice required.

Have just purchased a Bugeye Wagon wrx, and wish to improve on the standard system but do not wish to raise the dead on early mornings. Am not looking at performance gains but don't wanna buy something that is a waste of time and does not fit correctly. Can anyone steer me in the right direction, and am i right in thinking the wagon system is toally diff to the rest of them?

Possibly a Magnex backbox would be best. The quality and fit is good, not too pricey, and for a performance backbox they are one of the quieter ones.

you can get a direct fit one as it was part of the PPP, I think any newage one will fit your bugeye. I picked one up for my bugeye other week fits perfectly , was a simple 20 minute bolt on job much better fit than the one that was on before.

Chrisuk300 ebay link will fit yours no probs, but beware of this one

SUBARU IMPREZA PRODRIVE EXHAUST on eBay, also Exhaust Components, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 10-Oct-08 16:05:56 BST)

Considered it myself but if you look carefully not only is it cut off from the original pipe but the rear hangers are missing. Also what would you weld it to? Would be difficult to weld to an original backbox pipe as stainless and mild steel don't make for a good weld. Have 2 coded welders at work who looked at it and laughed. They said it can be done but for the mimimal saving in money just not worth the hassle.

Have one of these boxes on the wifes scoob. Nice burble but doesn't wake the neighbours at idle, no drone when motorway cruising, tells you it's there if using the loud pedal Stainless steel lasts almost forever (Wifes is 9 years old and looks near new). Saves a fortune on replacing rotted peashooters. Perfect fit and very well made.

Good compromise IMHO

Looking for another for my scoob. Hope we don't end up bidding against each other LOL

Have a feeling chepa pads maybe the reason although it looks like it has stood for a little while
