your going 2.35 but you think rotated is expensive ??? You do realise going for 550bhp is going to be expensive either way. Shaun has had some good results with AET turbo's and there is also good results with the MD321t+ and the FP red.

MD321V is the lastest carnation of Mark's (Lateral) Turbos. I think its currently in testing but its capable of well over 500bhp and is in the standard position. Might be worth giving him a ring.

wrxbart,
500bhp is not a given with a standard fit turbo, let alone 550bhp.

I have tested a couple of AET standard fit turbo's, with the last one achieving 440bhp / 470lbft at the hubs on one dyno and 530bhp / 550lbft at the fly on another dyno. Based on previous Dyno Dynamics runs, this equates to a DD flywheel in excess of 500bhp. All in all a 500bhp turbo. This was running 1.7bar @ peak boost / 1.6bar @ peak power and on pump fuel, but was on a built Cosworth 2.5L engine..... not sure what would be achieved without my AVCS heads and cams though.

This turbo is now being replaced with another AET turbo that has a different core and a bigger exhaust housing, since the last exhaust housing was too small and the power was flat lining quite early on (due to restricted exhaust flow). In theory, the new turbo should produce a bit more power...... especially with an extra wedge of boost. I will know over the coming weeks when we get it on and mapped again.

Steve,
I wasn't aware that non AVCS heads reduced power much, as it was mostly down to better spool using AVCS.

I have no data regarding my cossie AVCS heads/cams, versus standard AVCS heads/cams, but perhaps that is where my higher power figures for the turbo spec are coming in to play (for the boost that I run). The only info I know is from Engine Tuner that has seen same power outputs on the Cossie heads/cams with a lot less boost.

I thought you had the AVCS heads back now?

roflol

You spend more cash and "it" spends more time off the road. Tell me about it!!

I wish at times I had left the 2ltr engine in and been happy enough with around 370bhp.

VERY nicely thanks ... initial dyno run showed 490bhp & 490 lb/ft without too much issue but there is more to come and will be on the dyno hopefully tomorrow to see it at over 500 of each.

Just waiting on a dyno run at zen to prove the figures at present but delta-dash shows 32whp more than when the 490 flywheel bhp run was done. So looking good for 520+ of each.
