i am just wondering how come my impreza (1995 jdm wrx wagon) missfires once warm and sometimes when it happens when i look in my rear view theres a bit of smoke but the smoke aint there all the time. but when its cold its fine it boosts pefectly any ideas??

I had the same problem on my old Impreza and it turned out to be the spark plugs, put some new ones in gapped to 0.7mm, important to check the gap, and the problem was solved. The problem was that the gap was too large so the boost was blowing the spark out....not the most technical explaination I know

But I think misfires can be caused by alot of things eg coil pack, leads, spark plugs etc, probably best to go through these systematically replacing the cheapest bits first.
