Default MY99 RB5 ECUTEK map question help please?

New to this Impreza tuning so bear with me.
I will soon be fitting a VF23, xs power FMIC, complete de-cat, Blitz induction kit, walbro fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator and then it re-mapped by Andy Forrest
Now the questions
What pressure should i set the fuel at or will the mapper tweak this as necessary?
Do i need a boost controller or can the new boost pressure be set in the re-map?
can the car be driven with all the bits fitted before it is mapped or is it a matter of fitting all the bits then crawling down to the mapper off boost till it is all set up?

Is there anything else i need to make the power gain more efficiant/safer?

be a bit carefull with the maf seonsor at that sort of boost levels mine spat its dummy out when being mapped.

tbh for that level of mods i wouldn't drive it anywhere untill mapped, best bet give andy a bell and have a natter with him, sure he can advise either way, what he can and can't do.

also personaly i'd fit a nocklink and possibly an oil cooler

I will make sure to take my spare MAF then. I stay maybe 70 miles from
Andy F so will have no real choice other than to drive it to hime to have it mapped.

Ciaran, with the engine at hot idle and with the vaccum pipe disconnected from the FPR, set the fuel pressure to 3Bar as this will mimic factory settings. Once the vaccum pipe is on the pressure will sit a little lower and the mapper will adjust when you get to him.

This is what I was advised by Bob Rawle before I went for a remap after fitting 550's and the Fuel Lab FPR. He is about 100 miles away from me so drove strictly off boost and very gently. No problems.

Oh and I did put on a new MAF to be safe too.

Agree with the comment about the Knocklink, I have one too.

1999 MAF sensors are a bit of an enigma. I ran a MY99 MAF sensor for three years at power levels varying from standard to 452bhp. This was with a green cotton filter then an APS cold air kit and lately a RCMS/K&N setup and a rotated Garrett GT30R

If you do fit everything prior to remap drive to Andy's very carefully. No more than 4k rpm and off boost all the way.

similar setup to mine, minus the fpr and walbro....

boost can be set by the mapper but imo an EBC is a better for having the option to + or - levels...

i drove for a fair few miles with my vf23,fmic etc etc not ideal but had no problem driving not hard...

i heard the blitz were not good for the maf's on 99's so opted for a pipercross, which does the job nicely and (touch wood) has neva let me down year and a hlf on
