Noise from brakes
Hi All,
I had the window down today and noticed a tinny squeal from the o/s/f brake while turning left, but it goes away when the brake is applied? It also squeals on the same side when braking in reverse? The pads are almost new. Jacked the car up and checked for play and backplate position, all seem fine. I did notice that all the wheels turn easily when on the lift exept the o/s/f, which there is a small amount of resistance. Could this be a caliper sticking slightly causing the squeal, or something else?
Cheers, Matt.

could be sticky pistons on the brake calipers? mine did similar until i had reconditioned calipers fitted. if the caliper is sticking then brake dust may build up. then again mine still squeak a bit, and i think it is down to lack of copper grease.
try braking hard at high speed with hands light on the steering and see if the car pulls in one direction to see if there is an imbalance in the braking.

mine squeek after replacing also.
Where is the copper grease supposed to go, do you mean on the back of the pad (side not in contact with the disc?)
never needed to do that on a car before?
Cheers
