I have brought me a new laptop today and im looking to find some decent diagnostics software to download, i eventually want get ecu tek delta dash but its expensive so for the time being im looking for something cheap or even free if possible. Ive noticed a few advertising on ebay but i dont know how good they are.

What are you guys using and where do get it from?

Thanks for that mate, will that work on other cars to or is it just subarus?
I could also do with one that works on other cars if possible or do they all have different plugs?

For software have look here : ScanTool.net - Software - Browse scantools is a good free fault finding software.

The OBD cable has a different chipset for different cars, a basic OBD Cable for a Subaru will be able to give you most of the values and fault codes etc. The same cable should be able to cover other Jap manufactures between 2001-2006, check if you have particular manufactures in mind. The more expensive cables have adapter and types and so cover more cars.
