Default larger bonnet scoop for classic worth it?

is it true the larger bonnet scoops for the classics are pointless?

ive heard the standard scoop is better as it directs air directly to the intercooler and the larger one sends it over?

is it really that noticable or of a problem ?

cheers

The standard scoop has problems over 100mphish as the air doesn't go into the scoop just over it.
i would think a larger scoop onto a larger intercooler may be better (so if you put an STI8 tmic then put the larger scoop onto the car)

Personally though i think the larger scoops look ****e on classics

ive heard an sti-8 tmic is hard to fit though lol specially since i aint mechanically minded.

would a larger scoop on standard intercooler still do its job though?

I fitted an STI8 scoop to my99 impreza and it increased my peak boost by 0.1bar. It has to offer some improvements as it gets more air in

A scoop splitter which directs air to the front of the IC will aid cooling as well

Chy at Pennine does do mapping and built my car that is running 440bhp, however my car was mapped by Simon (JGM) who will travel to you.
