If the car is pre face lift then it is 220 ps standard. I imagine those mods could add 5-20 hp??? without the supporting ecu map. For better power gains you need a proper re-map by means of a chip from someone like polor performance or a new ecu.

i was under the impression (read it somewhere) that the import wrx's were of a higher bhp than UK spec models....260-280bhp depending where u get the info from???

Saloons range from 240-280ps. As stated the wagons range from 220 up to 280 for the sti. Normally the later the car the higher the output. Take a look on Impreza Web Owners Club Site - IWOC Under JDM market for the specs.

MY96 (Sep 95 - Aug 96) - 220PS (217bhp); 207lbft
MY97 (Sep 96 - Aug 97) - 240PS (237bhp); 224lbft
The UK Turbo 2000 saloons are either 208bhp (MY94-98) or 215bhp (MY99-00)... and I think the UK wagons are the same as the UK saloons, so either 208bhp or 215bhp as mentioned above. However, I'm sure someone will be along soon to let you know...
