Default Changing Plugs

Hi mate,

I recently did my MY98 for the first time after hearing all the stories about how hard it was to change the plugs. the hardest part was ensuring that i had a socket extension that was the correct length. remove the battery and the airbox was easy, the whole job took about 45mins and i had never done or seen the scooby done before.

As Tazz says fairly easy. I found that my socket set elbow joint extension is just about the right length. I have a MY99 so I assume its same as yours. On looking into engine on LHS you will have to take off air filter housing plus pipe that the MAF is in to gain access. On RHS take off windscreen washer bottle. Be careful taking off leads use the grip to pull them straight out or risk damaging. Also don't overtighten plugs.

One other tip is to duck tape your plug socket and extension together (mine has a rubber grommet and if you don't tape them the extension comes out and leaves plug socket on plug)

Good luck

p.s. if this is your first time enter the plugs and screw them in with your fingers first to ensure they are on the proper thread before attacking them with the ratchet
