Z4 vs ESL daughter board
I just thought I’d share some of my findings.
I’ve been running an ESL daughter board for about 18 months now on a td05. I get 1.1 bar easily and the acceleration is rapid.
After driving the car daily I would say I’m quite use to the power however the fuel consumption on long journeys still shocks me.
So I decided to try a Z4 apparently they both run a similar map.
The Z4 has been on the car for almost a week and I can’t get above 1 bar.
The acceleration is slow in comparison especially in a high gear.
I don’t know if the Z4 gives me a better return on fuel consumption and to be honest I don’t care.
I know you can’t have everything but I wasn’t expecting the Z4 to behave this bad.
I’ll be putting the ESL ecu back in very soon!

thats cos the z4 ecu is mapped to 12.*psi or .8bar not 16.*psi or 1.1bar like the ESL map you have.
to get the boost up on the z4 you would need some kind of boost cotroller as well, but wouldnt recommend it as the z4 has quite an aggressive timing map....
