its got a manual boost controller on it, iv been trying to make sense of it all day, no one seems to know which why to turn it to lower it, iv only had the car 2 weeks, my first scooby, never had a turbo before, i want to lower it coz io think its overboosting, its running at 1.3 bar and cutting out.

The more you 'open' it up, the more boost it will allow. You will therefore need to 'tighten' it.

i see u have 2 threads and my old boost controller worked opposite from what bob is saying.

best bet is to remove the thing altogether.

it will put the boost back to oe setting unless its been remapped for raised/lower boost.

when u say its cutting out do you mean when accelerating hard it feels like ur slamming on the brakes hard?

It's nothing that can't be resolved by trial and error within a few minutes.

You have a 50/50 chance of getting it right the first time. If you get it wrong just do the opposite!

it has been remapped to higher boost, no its not like braking, its like a misfire, between 4000 and 5000rpm in all gears, like a flat spot, had a fault diagnosis say it had misfired on all 4 cylinders at some point, maybe due to being jump started on flat battery and losing ecu memory, but still feels like misfire

as bob says when i fitted mine i was adjusting it but just couldn't get it to work right (was overboosting BIG time) car kept hitting fuel cut and my engine was smoking lol but overall engine lasted 6 months after that before i seen any damage which i doubt was down to the over boosting lol ;-)

doesn't sound like fuel cut then.

sounds like air flow meter, spark plug related or along that lines
