If it threatens to stall at junctions and generally refuses to idle properly, the maf is a good candidate. If you suspect a problem, get it to a specialists right away for a diagnostic and drive it off boost till the problem is rectified, no ifs, no buts. If it is the MAF, it's an engine killer, yet getting it sorted is a doddle.

As NS04 said - if there is even the smallest chance that your maf is dead or on its way, get your car looked at. Until you have confirmed the problem, don't be driving around on boost because there is a good chance that you will be back here soon asking for advice on where is best to spend £3.5k on a rebuild.
Maf's have killed plenty of engines - you have been warned!!!

i have put my car on a scaner and no faults were found but i will replace the maf sensor ordered today so should have it tomorrow. but i was thinking that have there been any issues with the ecu when someone sits in the pass seat as they put there feet on the ecu.

just wondering

The ecu sits under a shield. Best thing to do is lift the carpet and have a look and sit if any of the plugs are loose.
A scanner will only show a failed sensor - if your maf is "failing" then it wont show up

cant see anything wrong with ecu but i did try to disconnect the maf and it cont to run for a few seconds and cut out i then started it again still with the maf senser disconnected and started and was running but misfiring.

so to me the sensor is at fault cant wait to get the new one so i can use the car again.

You can drive the car, you should just make sure you keep it off boost; the maf controls open loop fueling, closed loop is taken care of by the Lambda sensor IIRC.
