Thoughts on AEM F/IC
Hi,
I recently stumbled across the AEM FIC while surfing. It's a piggyback ECU. It looks like it's got a nice feature list for it's price (about $400). The main features I liked about it are:
1. Controls injector pulse width instead of modifying MAF voltage, therefore the ECU does not see less load than is actually there.
2. It can retard timing by delaying the crank and cam sensor signals.
The bit I don't like is that AEM has only 'certified' it for Honda, Mazda, Nissan and Toyota cars. From looking at the manual there's nothing obvious that would stop it from working with a Subaru.
Anyone tried it out? Any thoughts on if it will work or not?
Thanks, Paul
