Running 1.1 Bar of Boost on TD05 - Recommendations
Hi all,
Apart from the hesitation problem (we think coil packs) we are trying to find out how our 1995 Wagon WRX is running 1.1 bar or meant to be running 1.1 bar of boost.
Is it safe or even possible to run 1.1 bar (stock is 0.7 bar) on a Wagon without fuel mods? If not then we can only assume the ECU has been chipped. We know retailers are selling re-worked chips that raise the boost to 1.1 bar and alter the map is there anyway of telling if it has one or best to get on the dyno?
I prey one of the previous owners hasn't just raised the boost via the adjustable actuator, it there is a fuel cut then it should prevent this from happening so can only assume it has been chipped?
Just want to know all the in's and out's of running 1.1 bar. Once we sort the hesitation we just need to make sure she is running at a safe limit.
Thanks,
T

open up the ecu and in the the bottom rhs there is a space where an extra chip can be placed (ecu is in passenger footwell underneath a kickplate and has a letter/number or number/letter code on the case)
Think fuel cut was 14.6psi on import wagons.
I'm not sure that the td05 is the standard fitment for an early wagon though (may be wrong)
Running 1.1bar on a td05 is fine but i would make sure the car is fuelling properly though
and according to 'View my scooby' it's an uber rare 1990 version

could someone have had the boost control pipework off at some point and re-installed with a smaller bore restrictor pill (standard will be a 1.2mm i think- it is in my'97 wrx wagon,- maybe there's a 1.0mm in there?)
