Default Apex avc-r

HI all i have a 97 uk turbo wagon (the small turbo non mappable one !) I have bought a second hand apexi avc-r to increase the power a bit on a budget. what can i increase the boost to safely ? I allready have a walbro 255 fitted panel filter centre decat and tsl back box. Is it best to get a an AFR guage ?. I Have been told i can go up to 1.2 Bar is this correct ? Will the inbuilt knock sensor stop the engine from blowing up ? Also was thinking of fitting a new standard turbo as the car has done 117k so probably a bit tired by now.

Cheers in advance

John

hmm upping boost on an engine with over 100k is asking for trouble imo!

You can't just increase boost to 1.2 and not make appropriate fueling and ignition modifications mate. At the very best you won't get optimal results, more likely you'll melt something. You can get a 97 car remapped: you'll need either a daughterboard solution like ESL or a replacment ECU like Simtek.
Speak to a someone like Bob Rawle for advice mate.
