Legacy engine same as impreza ?

Default Legacy engine same as impreza ?

As title realy,i was wondering if the twin turbo legy engine is the same as the impreza turbo ? appart from turbos offcourse.And if same i suppose its pretty easy to convert to single turbo ?...thanks

could you fit parts of a twin turbo legy engine to a impreza and in turn make it a tt impreza

Apparantly they are not the same. Simple example is that legacy has two bolts holding the coil packs in not one. Im sure there are more conciderable differences inside the engines which would cause problems long term.

Reason i ask is i just bought one for £500 with a gearbox problem.Box prob doesnt bother me as all running gear is going to be fitted in a pug 205,if i can convert to single turbo.If not then my mate will prob take it in a swap for his impreza if i change box.

they are different.. different compression being the main problem..

Bottom end should be pretty much the same. Lots of info on the link posted above.

Not really an advantage to converting an Impreza to TT though. They're great motors but notoriously hard to tune for much more power.
