will my ecu run my mod's ?
Just wondering if my ecu will support my mod's when im done with my project ? its a 98 ukwagon it has a my99 s8 or 8s ( cant remeber which way round ) ecu apparentley its mappable ? the spec will be a ej20cdb,650cc injector's, td05 20G ,walbro fuel pump, hybrid fmic, uprated fuel pressure regulator, decat down pipe and center , tubular headers and up pipe heat wrapped , uprated clutch anlight weight fly wheel. now thats the full spec just incase u ask lol , will i need an apexi power fc or will mine be able to be mapped propperley ?

If your car is a MY98 (2pot front brakes, older style front bumper) then it is possible to get it re-mapped but its not easy and most people just stick in an aftermarket ecu.
If your car is a MY99 which iirc was actually released September 1998 so there are some S plated MY99 cars about (4 pot front brakes with Subaru written on them and the later style front bumper) then you can just get it Ecutek'd by one of the usual mappers.

The 99 ECU can be remapped but I would have thought that fitting a 99 ECU to a 98 UK would be a nightmare. If what you say is correct then the Ecutek remap by a competent mapper should be able to handle your spec.
The expert with knowledge of ECUs and Ecutek capability that I would ask would be Bob Rawle of BRD. He could give you no nonsense answers.

TY 752 boxes were in 93-98 cars and TY754 from late 98 onwards. In my experience, after 350 bhp the 752 box will break and sometimes a long way before that. Driving technique has a big effect.
The 754 box is generally stronger and has more strength in the casing.
Each gearbox has a sticker on the top of the bell housing on the starter motor/passenger side which gives a code like TY752 VBCAA for instance and from that the gearbox type can be identified. Also on your VIN Plate is the transmission code which, providing your box has not been changed, provides similar info.

easy way to tell if 98 or 99 model.. if the coilpack is in the middle of the inlet manifold on the top of the engine then i is a 98 and therefore the standard ecu is no mappable (easily).. if the coilpack is offset to the right then it is a 99 and the ecu is remappable using ecutek
