Default Fuel Injectors

I have just got my 1998 type r back from Enginetuner and the injectors maxed out at 470bhp.

The current injectors are 740cc Deatschworks.

Has anybody got any suggestions what injectors I could use to get up to
600bhp and also where I can get them!

Any help will be appreciated

The 740cc injectors on Andy Forrest's website are rated at 590bhp. Failing that you will have to go up to 800cc injectors.

So I'm guessing there must be a fair bit of variation between the different makes of injector then as mine are already 740cc

The rest of the car is ready to take 600bhp so I want to be sure whichever injectors I buy will be suitable so I guess I cannot be sure that 800cc will be enough.

it's not bad

Having just spent loads on the rest of the rebuild I want to finish it off now.

I am told I also need parallel rails.

I have found a kit which converts to top feed rails so would this solve my problems as it seems a good deal with the injcectors included???

Glad you like it mate coz you know where it's gonna come for a bit of help!!

If I got that then is it just a case of a few bits of braided hose and a few connectors?

Also which size injectors would you suggest I go for?

That sounds a bit low mate ... who supplied the injectors?

See here Scoobypedia | Trusted knowledge for everything Subaru | Knowledge / Estimated Horse Power from Injectors

You could also get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and up the pressure a bit, you might need to go to 850's if you seriously want 600bhp.

They were from a company in the States. I ended up buying the block, clutch and a rotated turbo kit from them and it was a really good price.

Martyn had these injectors at 98% when he was mapping and assures me that on the current fuel system this is the maximum. As I need to do the parallel fuel line upgrade as well then I am struggling to find a set of injectors over 800 cc for the price I can get the whole kit in the thread above for.

It also means I could possibly go for 1000cc injectors which would handle the power with ease.

And yes 600bhp is serious!!!!!

Screechy,

470bhp on "740cc" injectors at 98% idc is very low. What fuel pump/pumps are you using, and at what fuel pressure ?

It's a bosch 040 fuel pump. I'm not sure what pressure it's set at but it was as high as Martyn wanted to go safely on the original rails and pipes.

Forgot to mention it's also got a FSE regulator.

I think the Bosch (044 ?) will struggle to get anywhere near 600bhp, but I would expect it to work up to circa 540bhp.

You'll either need a much bigger pump, or run two pumps, as most of us do.

It was definitely the 040 in tank fuel pump.

It was recommended by Andy F and I replaced the Walbro that was fitted. Compared with the Walbro it is a lot bigger in size.

He said that would easily make the 600bhp, especially as I am running 10% methanol.

Ok, I'm not familiar with the Bosch 040 pump, so can't comment.

Thanks - that looks like it

From what I remember it is similar spec to the 044 but sits inside the tank
