Fuel pressure problem?
Hi all,ive just carried out a parallel fuel rail mod, fuel reg, breather pcv bypass, and inlet manifold insulators, and have a couple of problems.
Firstly, the fuel pressure drops off straight after the engine's turned off,yet the system had loads of pressure in it when disconnected before mods. The new regulator makes a hiss, and pressure goes. I've checked the diaphram, and its good.
Secondly, when i disconnect one or both the coil packs on the drivers head, the idle doesn't really change, yet almost stalls on the passenger side.
Lastly, the car has irratic boost, which i thinc may be linked to the fuel problem. It boosts anywhere between 10-16 psi(should be 16).
Any thoughts would be much appreciated!!

Just an update,im sure the reg is faulty. When the fuel pump primes the system, the gauge only reads 20psi(1.35 bar),but dropsto zero instantly. I then blocked the fuel tank return line on the reg,to see if i had a damaged injector seal ect,and it pressurised so much the pipe blew of the reg!! This tells me the system is good,so back to the reg! This must mean that the rising rate 1.1 is probably not happening, hence the boost fault.

The idle is lumpy anyway,so im thinking that the coil pack connectors might be dirty,as i had a power steering leak there. If i rev the engine a little ,it smooths out nicely. It looks like it's missfiring at idle.

Right, problem solved! The new fuel regulator is rubbish! It's leaking pressure. I slaved the standard one back in and all's good. I can only assume the poor idle was also a fuel problem as thats gone to.
Thanks,Mit
