Default Low revs / stall

Started the car up today to go to work and all of a suddon the revs dropped then picked up again. I took it for a spin after work and its doing it all the time now hot and cold.

When first started it sits at about 800 then drops to about 200 and sometimes nearly stalls, its doing this fomr just being turned on and whne it fully warmed up.

Any ideas on this?

Tim

any way of checking?

someone suggested a bov might be the cause but its been on there for a good month or 2 and the idle problem has only just started. Could it be related?

start the car, and with it running un plug maff, car should stall. turn off and plug back in.

bov can cause rough idle and lean the car out if its sucking air in ie not strong enough spring, mines doing that now

a VTA dump valve can cause issues (are you sure its not leaking), but usually they cause issues when coming to a junction, roundabout etc.

Pulled the maf out and it stalled straight away. is there any way of changing the spring on a forge?

Could be a fubared lamda sensor. One has just been replaced on mine, which was suffering from a dodgy idle.
