Default after remap !!

Good evening fellow Subaru people!!

STi 03 **40k miles

I have had a full de-cat , walbro fuel pump , new plugs , K+N panel filter , Apexi Avcr.

The difference is very very good , or it was for the first 24 hours ?

I was getting 1.51 bar of boost as displayed on the apexi and showen on the defi's, car was very quick and held the boost a lot longer than usual * great !!

However after a few days i never see 1.5 bar of boost , i generaly see 1.4 maybe 1.42 and it seems to fall away quite quickly.

Last night after a sprinted drive and a good warm turbo i couldn't get any boost above 1.24.

The guy at the garage said my actuator is slightly week at the high end of the boost and it was bleeding a little away ? okay fine and he said that i could have it changed in time , but at the moment its still doing fairly good.

Have you any ideas why my boost is so erratic , i thought the idea of the apexi controler was to eliminate this and help it maintain boost ?

I have not touched the apexi i would have no idea what to do with it?

I called the garage and they said to drive it and monitor it over the weekend and maybe get it back in as he said something about the ECU maybe taking over and trying to compensate ? for what ?>

also the car smells of fuel at the exhaust and i get some pops ?

any way folks any advice would be as always with much thanks.

Chris.

maybe something to do with the heat we have had the last few days.
and it could be over fueling if it is you need to be careful when driving

You can try alter the AVCR duty cycle by a few percent, to see if the boost hits target. When the weather is warmer, you sometimes need to adjust the duty cycle slightly to hit target and then adjust it down in colder weather so you dont overshoot target boost.

Thanks for the reply.

i really am blonde when it comes to this boost controler.
the guy at the garage basicly said its set up and i shouldnt need to adjust it.
what would i do in order to adjust the duty cycle?
also does 1.5 bar sounds fairy average after a remap ?

I had the same problem, the AVCR just wouldn't reach boost targets...and getting progressivly worse...

I eventually traced it to a split in one of the intercooler hoses

I just have to get it sorted as the temp fix with a bit of Fireman sam welly boot, silicone and cable ties probably not going to last LOL

Hi guys , im goin to take the car back in on monday and let them take a look at what is going on. there is no consistency with the boost , its really all over the place , some times you get good grin factor , 1.45 1.5 boost thru 3rd 4th and so on other times it bairly makes 1.3 in 3rd im getting what seems like some boost spikes and very erratic.
no 3rd gear ever feels the same.

i have noticed quite a few more hoses under the bonnet with cable ties ? and a few T peices ?

im really not to sure on this boost controler so i will leave it be until i know more about the said beast !

i hope it is just a boost leak somewhere i was thinking about buying a new actuator from forge would this help and are they a good unit .

Regards

Chris.
