Most engines are baby-ed for the first thousand miles from new... others say thrash them from day one to loosen them up !

i do the first 300 miles under 3000rpm then take it up 250rpms every 100 miles, that is safe enough, phil.

keeping it under 3000 rpm means your probably putting excess load on the fresh engine by changing up realy early and getting in a high gear as soon as you can at low rpm this is bad for a new engine A few Rpms dont hurt fresh engines if your sensible too much load will and that can be boost or labouring the motor in too high a gear
