Default Stroking EJ22T, what's needed?

Right, looking to stroke an ej22t to make a 2.33. Browsing SN I have read I need a 2.5 crank, standard length rods and custom pistons. Can someone confirm this and recomend brands for pistons and rods. Road build so not looking anything more than 500bhp.

EJ257 Crank is correct. You will however need stroker Rods and pistons.
Mark @ Lateral performance is your man. He'll be able to sell you some Wiseco pistons and Pauter rods that will do the job very nicely indeed.

Cheers

Done this to mine and can say Mark is the man. Not sure about the 257 crank though, think a 25 has the correct thrust bearing for the 22t block.

Hi mate!
Did you get my email?
You will have to use the EJ25 crank that fits the phase1 EJ22 block!

The only 2.5lt crank that will fit the EJ22T out of the box, is the early phase one EJ25 crank, but it uses a 48mm big end journal, instead of the later 52mm big end journal. It's not the way we would do it, as the crank is weaker, and has a smaller bearing surface.

We would always modify the block to take the later crank.

Mark.

Ok, sounds like an EJ257 is the best option.

What are stroker pistons & rods and how do they differ from standard? Are they sold in sets or can rods and pistons be used from different brands?

Worth doing your research as there are a few options to get to 2.35. My 2.35 was built by Len at Subaru4You, based on EJ22T block, machined by SMG (Steve Guirey) for JE pistons. Carillo rods & EJ257 crank to increase stroke. Worth going for Cometic head gaskets too.
