Default voltage on boost solenoid

just a quick question, does anyone know if the voltage on boost solenoid should be there all the time as i have checked with meter when engine is off and i still have 12v .

I'm not sure whether the boost solenoid is energise to open or energise to close, either way I think you need to ground the solenoid first. What you may be seeing is residual voltage. Best way to check is to get a 12v battery (cordless drill battery) and connect it to the solenoid to see if it operates. Before you do it though, disconnect the battery and then disconnect the solenoid....just for safety
