Wink Boost gauge question..type/fitting.

I need to fit a boost gauge to my 1998 Forester T/tb.
I hope to fit it somewhere/somehow on top of the dash or on an A-pillar pod (and yes, Forester A -pillar is different to the Impreza one ). No, I don't want three gauges in the top center pocket !
I know that if I go for a simple mechanical type gauge then I have to work out a route for the plastic pressure tubing through the dash/bulkhead and onto the air hose but does an electronic gauge need the same ? Does it have the tubing to route or is the data sent via a wire from a fitted sensor in the air hose ?
Just thinking that wire is easier to route than tubing.

Thanks

You will still need to feed the rubber/silicon pipe through so the EBC can read the vacuum and feed wire through aswel.

If the Forester is the has a similiar bulkhead as an Impreza then on the offside under the dash above the pedals is a hole designed to allow wires/tubing from guages to pass into the passenger cabin.

I've electronic guages still need tubing plumbed in to read them.
On my newage I plumbed it into the vacuum pipe on the dumpvalve, this in turn goes into a separate sender which sends an electronic measurement to the control unit which you must have to read any Defi's
