make sure that you don't have the handbrake on while trying to get the disks off - you would be surprised how many people get caught out by that one !!!

A trick i use is when i put the disc back on i use a couple or even 1 wheel bolt to hold the disc in place when i put the caliper back in place.

Also, dont start the car and release the handbrake. If lucky you will be able to replace the caliper with pads by depressing the pad against the piston and pushing it back. No need for tools as the system will not be pressurised. Also take off the brake reservoir tank screw top to relief back pressure.
