Question Outback H6 - Replaced Throttle Position Sensor. Still problems...

Hi Everyone,

I'm a bit unmechanically minded, so please bear with me!

I have a 2004 Outback H6

In short. I had a P0122 fault code. Throttle position sensor. Replaced TPS with new one. Problem as defined in this image is now gone (yay!) "Engine hesitation and Transmission Shift Shock". CEL is gone. Haven't reset error code. Don't know how. Will this make a difference though?

Now it seems, I have a 2nd problem. This 2nd issue was evident before I changed the TPS; but I assumed it was related. But, clearly not, as it's still there!

When in Park - idle is a little erratic. I can handle that. However, when in Drive or Reverse, rpm increases to around 1,200. Car wants to drive at this engine speed. This causes a problem when trying to crawl in traffic. Even worse when slowing down for traffic light; as you almost come to a stop, rpm increases again frocing you to brake harder to resist sudden engine speed increase. Once stopped, the rpm drops back to around 500-600 rpm again.

Any ideas guys?

Thanks. I'm going nuts!

Sorry to bump an old thread but I am having the exact same issue and was wondering if someone had a resolution. However, I have never thrown a code.
