96 WRX ECU is mine the same?
Guys,
As above however according the the Chassis number it was 280bhp from new (310 now). Now am I right in thinking the later WRX's were only 240bhp?
My reason for asking is I think my ECU is shagged and I need to replace however I dont want to do this if the reason for my WRX being 280bhp out the factory is the ECU programming. I dont want to reduce it by fitting a later WRX ECU.
Make sense?
Cheers
Ben

Oh, apologies I had it the wrong way round. Where did this increase come from? Was it the ECu programming or were there changes in the Cams etc?

hi, this was associated with the increase in the octane rating of fuel avaliable in japan, basically 102 ron enabled the boost to be turned up abit and the tdo5 was swapped for a vf22 roller bearing unit.
