Default Boost help

hi my uk 2000 impreza has just been in for some work at prosport while it was there they noticed one of the pipes from the actuator has started to melt slightly so he said have u had any probs with boost i said no because it was pulling hard so he said ill change it for u so i said ok. when i picked it up he explaned that the old pipe had no resrictor in it but it was boosting ok which i thought was strange because they run crap without them so he said he had put another resrictor in and tested it and said it was boosting ok. i drove it home and it felt nowhere as fast so i put a boost clock to see what boost i was running and it was around 12psi whats the ideal boost for the uk 2000...cheers karl

Thats quite low - 0.8 bar but I think standard boost actually is only 0.9.

When they remap they normally map to 1.2-1.3 bar on the standard turbo which is approx 18psi.

With the melted hose it would have been overboosting, hence probably why now it feels slow!!

I would unless you fancy swapping exhaust/filter and remapping it properly - then it'll have 270-280bhp and be miles quicker and more usable - trust me
