Evening,
Just a quick question.
I had a SECS unit and had the oil temp plumbed into this with the sensor provided by PSI3.
I've got rid of the SECS unit now, and bought an AutoGauge Oil temp gauge. I plumbed it into the existing sensor and it doesn't register the temp.
The Autogauge came with it's own temp sensor.
I'm now assuming the the insides of the sensor must be different (ohms ??) hence the problem.
Can anyone clarify this, before I set about the tIdeous task of swapping over sensors...
Thanks

I dont know about those particular sensors, but my temp sensor on the Spa setup is not a simple NTC thermistor, a slightly more complicated setup.
You should match sensor to gauge ideally, but you know this already. Tedious job ahead.

I guess I was just wondering what exactly is inside that little sensor, I'm assuming some sort of resistor ?
I'll wait for a nice sunny day before doing that then

Its usually a NTC thermistor, but the values vary. Some can be 10k ohms at 25C, others 3k3 ohms at 25C. Then of course you have differing coefficiants, so 2 different thermistors both 10k at 25C - one could be 1k at 100C, the other 3k at 100C.
So basically, not all temp sensors are the same
