Nowt wrong with the Sti 6 heads, nice little port and polish job will give good results.
As for the block - not a CDB as stated above unless its already had a rebuild and fitted with a EJ207 twin breather, semi closed deck block.
Decent set of ARP(or similar) head studs will give better clamping of the head gasket to the block.
The STi V6 heads have a staggered bolt pattern for the Inlet Manifold whereas your WRX will have an Inline bolt pattern - so another potential problem when you come to fit it.

cheers for the info mick
i think im told that i have got a cdb in mine at the moment because it has cross hatch markings by the crank pick up
as for the heads from what your saying i would need a inlet manifold from a version 6.. is that right??

Yep - you need a Vers.6 inlet manifold to go with the STi 6 heads - the engine wiring loom connectors are different and the ISCV is different also.
You might be better off selling the STi 6 engine and putting the money from that towards building a good Forged engine with your CDB.
If your not ready to pull your engine yet,you can pick up a good standard CDB(bare block) from the likes of API for about 200 notes, and build it up from that.
Just my opinion though.

to be honest ur probably right.. i broke down on sat at scooby shoot out because the return pipe come off the bottom of the turbo an had to get the rac to bring me home..
i was hoping it had`nt done any damage to the engine but i have found out today it has because i can hear a nock so its f*c*ed...
luckly i have another scooby breaking with a good engine in it so im goin have to use that, didnt want to realy as i could have done with selling it... never mind at least iv got my cdb now to rebuild..
wot heads would you say are best then for my engine ??

Shame your engine is goosed - personally i would go for STi vers.3/4 heads, good gains to be had from the cams ( lift and duration ) and Inner Shim Buckets for a higher rev limit.
A good pair of heads dont come cheap though.
