Default CV BOOT SPLIT

HELLO IVE JUST RECENTLY BOUTH MY SUBARU IMPREZA AWD YEAR 2000 AND IVE HUST BEEN CHECKING IT OUT AS IM GOING FROM WALES TO SCOTLAND IN IT FOR A FAMILY WEDDING AND IVE JUST NOTICED THAT THE CV BOOT IS SPLIT I THINK ON BOTH SIDES. I KNOW IT NEEDS REPLACING BUT HOW URGENT IS IT, THERE NO NOISE FROM IT AND SEEMS TO BE DRIVING OK. WILL IT BE OK THERE AND BACK DO YOU THINK? ANY HELP OR ADVISE WOULD BE GREAT THANKS LISA

Hello and welcome (first post)

If either 1 or both of the cv boots are split then don't drive it any distance at all.

In case you are not aware, the cv boot is in place to hold grease that surrounds the cv joint. If there is no grease present around the cv joint, then metal on metal will cause big repair bills £££'s.

Get it sorted asap, and sort out your caps lock.
