Hi
Lamba's are subjected to a great deal of heat and carbon i would run a tap down the threads in your used exhaust system. i had the same problems with my wifes sti type ra a little older than yours but the same deal I also had issues in removing the lamda from the standard system due to the carbon build up. i would say just keep tryin!!!!!
