remap soon-boost solenoid help?
Hi
Due to go see AndrewC for a remap soon, just been reading about boost solenoid on another thread and cleaning recommended. Are thre any guides for this?

You clean them usually if there is a boost problem as they can sometimes get a bit of $hit in them. Andrew will tell you if you need a 3 port when/before he maps it. I'm sure he usually has a couple lying around.
You could always PM him and aks, he is your mapper so is probably in the best position to answer you q.

looks like you have a similar year to mine, i followed the guide advising me to connect green and black connectors under the dashboard but that didn't work at all and my solenoid didn't come to life.
In the end i popped the bonnet, removed to 10mm bolts for the solenoid mounting plate, pulled off vacuum hoses (remembering which one went where, there are only two) and then getting some carb cleaner and poking the nozzel into the t-piece inlet (the horizontal tube facing towards the turbo not the floor) good old squirt, and then letting it dry.
To be honest i don't think it made much of a difference, i replaced mine this saturday with a prodrive EBCS, and new vacuum tubing.
having said that a lot of grease did come out after using this method
