Default Why does my subi smell like a dead cat after its warm?

Do i have an overheating problem? the temperature gauge never seems to rise above halfway, even on long trips etc. But after the engine is warm my subaru smells "hot" (if u know what i mean)
is this a serious problem? or is it quite normal? (my mates RS leggy does the same thing?)

thanks

a lot of japs smoke heavily and the cars often need a good valet with debugging the fabric included...this sorts it out... ive had a few in that stunk but a can of that air con cleaner in the car and the air con on..sorted it out with a heavy dose of deoderiser..

Yeah more likely to have oil or water being burnt off the heat wrap (or heat shield) from the headers or down pipe.
