Default Power steering fluid leak

Hope someone can help.

Noticed fluid on cooling pipe of the power steering system on my 1997 UK car a couple of days ago.

Almost looked like the pipe had corroded and it was just leaking out of the pipe that sits just in front of the radiator, but there was also a little fluid near the lid of the reservoir too.

It's getting worse and the pump was making a noise too yesterday, but that went away when I topped up the fluid.

Any one got any ideas where there's a weak point in the plumbling as it's really not obvious where its coming from.

What goes on them, I just hit 140000 miles last week.

Cheers

OK I'll answer myself

For info if anyone searching for similar problems.

I found last night that the power steering cooling pipe (such as it is) has corroded so much it was leaking at the join after the 'U' turn, passenger side in front of radiator. The rubber pipe there looked very poor but the pipe was so rusty I couldn't say for sure which bit was causing the leak.

Also the top pipe just after the turn on to the horizontal where the protection padding stops was very rusty and I think it was probably leaking frmo there too when hot / under pressure (such pressure that it gets there).

Next plea does any one have one spare?
