I was thinking of upgrading my ageing turbo-to-IC long hose and IC-to-throttle-body short hose to the ubiquitous Samco silicon items for my phase1 92-96MY motor.

Thing is, on the standard OEM turbo-to-IC long hose, it attaches to the underside of the IC by way of a specially-formed flange and 3 bolts. How is the replacement turbo-to-IC silicon hose supposed to attach to the IC? Would I have to cut the OEM hose about a 3rd of the way down from its flange and then slide the silicon hose over this OEM cut pipe and secure it with 1 or 2 jubilee clips? Or am I missing something really obvious?

Please advise, as I can't see how the silicon turbo-to-IC hose is otherwise supposed to attach to the IC?

pretty much as you said, you have to cut the original hose and then jubilee clamp the samco to it
