dump valve
i have a standard 04 WRX but want to start upgrading. what type of dump valve should i get? i am about to buy a de-cat pipe and louder back box although nothing too loud. any replies welcome.
Personally I would not put a dump valve on a Scoob. Stick with the recirc valve and it will save you problems in the long run. As for exhaust I have a Magnex system, its deep but not too loud. Try and listen to a few as they vary a great deal in db levels.
got bailys dv on it sounds nice and cost 129
if you thinkin of de cat then think of re map
got mine de catted and typhoon induction kit with re map now running 278bhp
all carried out by scooby clinicany other questions please ask as i will try my best to answer
cheers
why do dv cause probs??????
This is from experience of issues involving dump valves. It is regarded by many, including mappers on here, that the standard recirc valve is by far the most reliable and best item to use. There is no performance to be gained by dumping to atmosphere. Fitting a good panel filter as suggested will give you a whoosh sound while changing gear and not be annoying. Dump valves suit certain cars and IMO Subaru's aren't one of them. I am sure others will agree.

Dont do it read my threads. I had a Forge and i just had to pay £500 for subaru to tell me it is causing over fueling. DV sound good if your in to that but aren't as good as standard recirc valve.
