I never heard of a light weight one, not sure how you would lighten it, all the components inside are needed and you cant make the internals out of ally as it wouldn't work.
Prodrive sell uprated units for the GP N rally cars, but it would depend on how old your car is as to weather they still support it.

Yes i no but i dont no witch to order how many amp's i need and maybe there are some other thinks to look for.
And yes you can juse a modified alternator bracket but then i have to lose the aircon and dont want to do that and everyting attached to it like hoses and radiator.
