Can any one tell me what the difference is between a wrx sti and a wrx sti v ltd also in the SIDC FAQ under the performance list the power output is quoted in PS, is this the same as BHP.If it is then the Version 3,4,5 are 300 bhp and I was under the impression that they were 280 bhp.
Please help clarify.
Andy.

IIRC there were 4 variants of sti v-limited - all sonic blue
- highlights below:
RA - STI Limited (2000 units) -
13-1 quickrack, titanium gearknob + fancy pedals, blue front seats and dashboard trim + dial surround ,trick LSD, roof vent
double decker rear spoiler as an option (ver 6) - NO side skirts, no electric aerial, lightweight 16"'rays' wheels + re010 tyres (!)pink stars badge. Kenwoood CD
Type R 2 door (1000 units)
titanium gearknob + fancy pedals, blue front seats and dashboard trim + dial surround ,LSD, roof vent and
side skirts, no electric aerial, lightweight 16"'rays' wheels + re010 tyres (!)pink stars badge. NO ABS
RA limited (not STI)- (1000 units)
lower rear spoiler (like ver 4 and UK car)titanium gearknob + fancy pedals, blue front seats and dashboard trim + dial surround ,LSD, NO roof vent and NO side skirts, no electric aerial, lightweight 16"'rays' wheels + re010 tyres (!)ABS, foglights, black stars badge
STI Wagon limited (500 units)
titanium gearknob + fancy pedals,black/blue front seats, blue dashboard trim + dial surround ,LSD,- side skirts, , lightweight 16"'rays' wheels + re010 tyres (!)Kenwood CD/MD - pink stars badge, double rear spoilers (5 door)
IMHO the v-limited STI-RA and wagon are the nicest - though the former had no side skirts making it a bit odd looking - needs lowering. The v-limited wagon is rare full 280 PS version. The STI-RA was odd in that it was not a stripped out leightweight like the usual RAs are - though some items were deleted to make it lighter than the regular STI 4 door.
Version 5 (and 6 for that matter) STIs were the best equipped scoobies with all the trick bits like inverted struts, phase 2 engine with sodium filled valves and strengthened pistons + bigger vented rear brakes (not on the RA). Most were available in Grey, White and Silver - also black (version 5) and yellow (version 6)
If you ahve a specific question regarding the spec, I think I could dig some original brochures out at home.
cheers,
Paul W

Thanks for your very informative details,I am interested in the 5dr cars.
You state 500,is this total ie.in the world or just in UK.and all years,if so how many 5dr STI non V ltd were made per year and what colours as I believe they did Sonic rally Blue as well as DBM.
Is there any way of finding out how many and what versions are in the UK.
Thanks
Andy.

500 units only were the jap domestic v limited edition 5 door Sti s
-no idea how many would have reached the UK but you can bet it wasn't many. There will have been many many more regular STIs - version 5 were available in black, grey, silver, white. Version 6 came in yellow white, silver, grey. Only the non STI WRX 5 door came in a dark blue for version 6 - as did the version 6 sti type R.
The last time I saw a dark blue 5 door - it was a ver 4 sti - used to visit a neighbours house from time to time - any 5 door sti is unusual.
