Yes brake and carb cleaner comes in spray can like WD40 with the little tube etc. I had to do this on my old 93wrx. I took off all the pipes to the sol but left it plugged in. Under the dash use the ecu reset connectors, i think if you connect one of them (might be the green but i can't really remember) then all the electrical stuff on the engine starts such as the fan etc. This causes the solanoid to start clicking. While its doing this spray carb cleaner into the top holes and it'll flush through. Do this a couple of times. I also took off the pipes leading to it and cleaned them in the same way.
I did read on here to then spray a bit of WD40 into it afterwards, i did this and it was fine.
Is a 10 minute job, i did an ecu reset afterward and evrything worked great.

Hope it helps
Matt
