Default classic import 240ps and 260ps question

Im going to see a N reg import classic that for sale.
It is the 240ps version with the red and black seats yet it is on a N reg????
Is this plausable???? I thought only the 260ps versions (with the purple and black seats) can be registered on a N plate due to the age thing.
Ive never ever seen a 240ps on a N plate before and alarm bells tell me perhaps there is a problem with the car.
Normally 240ps are on K,L,M reg
260ps on M/N reg
Maybe it has been registered wrong? Is this possible?

Possible...

Also if aerial is on rear wing it is 260ps, if it's on the a-pillar (drivers side) then it's a 240ps.

I've seen an early car on a 51 plate. So it is possible.
